Halloween 2012 - Skull Face

I have posted a blog about best tutorials on easy costume ideas/make up previously you can check it out here: http://everyprettydesire.blogspot.ie/2012/09/halloween-is-upon-us-be-afraid.html

Since Halloween is only a few sleeps away and people are already dressing up and heading out to fancy dress parties and events I practiced the Lady Gaga Skull make up from the Born This Way video a few days ago...

Here I have taken pictures step by step actions of a skull face :)

Step 1.
Best to get a page and two different coloured pens and draw out a face. Like I have done here use one colour to draw out the face no major facial characteristics are necessary but the eyes, nose and mouth should be there.

Step 2.
With the red pen draw out the lines and shapes that you will eventually transfere onto your face with a brown or black eyeliner, preferably black so you can follow the lines better. Try and follow your actual bone structure by feeling around where the bones on your face are.

Step 3.
Fill in the eye sockets and other "empty" bone areas like cheeks and nose with black paint. The rest white... Better to do the white first, several layers of white make up may be needed as some brands are watery. You will feel your face getting tighter due to the make up but dont worry that normal and wont harm your skin. At this point you should colour in the teeth and shade them into shape a bit.
Add shading to the eyeliner lines using black or grey eyeshadow and a soft brus. Do the same with the teeth outline.

Step 4.
When your face is dry draw out the neck with the same eyeliner pencil, by this time it may be blunt so dont forget your parer ;) Make sure you remember which section should be black and which white! It may be hard to reverse...

Step 5.
Fill in the black first! Unlike your face there is more black then white and this in general is one messy affair so better of waiting till the black dries then applying several coats of white.
Dont forget to colour underneath your chin.

Step 6.
Is the last step which is shading of the neck. By this time your mouth will be as dry as the Sahara do apply more white make up on your teeth area.

TADA!!

Tips.

When your applying the black make up do not freak out if it stings a little. If its very wet and wont dry quick enough apply black eyeshadow, dont rub just gently dab it on.

For costume ideas just put your hair in a pony tail add a white shirt, dicky bow, black trousers and a blazer. The Lady Gaga look :)

Bring white make up and a small brush in your hand bag with you to the party, the teeth area may fade when drinking or eating or kissing :-P

Shopping Online

Shopping online has become the new thing. Ordering clothes seems to be as addictive as sugar. My friend is a fan of online shopping and advised me on the best sites out there.. So after checking them out  I thought I would share the secret with everyone.

Here we go.

2020 AVEhttp://www.2020ave.com/

Cute and very affordable clothing. Very current styles from shirts to dresses to jackets to shoes. You cannot go on the site without drooling over the leather jackets! If anything its worth checking out the accessories... Personally my eye was caught by the iPhone bling.

The Caravanhttp://www.shopthecaravan.com/category/just-in?page=2

Everyone seems to be all about the vintage this year, and will probably not leave the fashion world ever. So this is the site to find something original and different, with limited stock and funky eyewear! Its affordable and totes cute ;)

Sway Chichttp://swaychic.com/

Trendy clothes. The dresses are so cheap its sick!! I would advice to dip into the site and look around, it has a lot to offer.

Tartehttp://www.shoptarte.com/category/what-s-new?page=2

Such a cute site, very similar to The Caravan yet it has a greater selection and a bigger collection. Personally the custom denim jackets do it for me. Sold.

The Cultlabelhttp://thecultlabel.com/index.php

Some very cute items on this. Cant help but get the gothic/grudgey vibe to it, but hey thats what is in fashion right now! A few unique pieces that will definitely will turn heads.

Custom Vintage Dublinhttp://www.customvintagedublin.com/#!shop/mainPage

Since I have seen this plastered all over the magasines I could not wait to check it out. Everyone seems to be wearing these amazing custom high waisted shorts <3
Its definitely love at first sight!

Mac Purchases ♥

I had a voucher for BT2 and sure what else would I buy only some mac goodies. I'm not sure how much these two products are but I'm thinking €20 maybe but I'll have to look that up again.

I adore blush so I definitely wanted to try one of these bad boys out, I asked the girl to show me some and she asked me what I like. I'm always a pink blush kind of girl so she used this one on me, I really like it and use it almost everyday. I have nothing much else to say about it because I really do like it and would recommend it for a nice little hint of pink which is not too loud and in your face.
Stay Pretty
Pro Longwear blush in Stay Pretty

I went into mac looking for a highlighter because I really wanted to see if they had any good ones, the lady recommended Earthshine, it is a little hard to use if you just want to use it with a brush because you could get the gold and brownish parts, so I usually have to swatch them on my hand first and then my brush. I think maybe if I use it more and more I will like it but right now I'm 50/50 so I definitely need to try it out more.

Current Favorite Product

Just a quick post showing a current love of mine at the minute, haven't had it too long but I'm already obsessed.
065 Lollipop

Revlon Colorburst Lipbutter in Lollipop
I have had two of their other lipbutters before ( Cotton Candy and Peach Parfait) which I loved but they weren't as dramatic as this one and I only used them for a little gloss. I really wanted a lipstick with moisture because I find some of my favorites quite drying but this stuff is great because it gives color and moisture. Definitely a top pick for the Autumn/Winter months :)

Its a Snack World

It seems like my summer revolved around tasting new treats while I was away in France, but now Autumn has rolled around and I now realized I have put weight on... Feels crappy, and with the life its hard to find time, money and effort for gym! So this is my day 5 of the diet world, smaller meals, no tasteful fat filled foods and white bread :(

So with that in mind here is my tribute post to most 4 most delicious things I have tasted in the last 3 months! Yum Yum...

1. Macaroons

What are they? Hmm.. well the best way to describe them is trendy French cookies. They were born in Italy and introduced to the french king in 1547. Yes they are not a new phenomenon, hard to find in Ireland and even harder to find fresh ones. I tasted these beauties in France as a test to this Instagram trend thats been going around! The flavors varie from strawberry to caramel, but my favorite is pistachio flavor. You can find these heavenly treats in 10 South Lotts Road, Dublin 4, here they stock The Cake Stands treats aka Macaroon heaven.

Marie Antoinette had these at her wedding. Enough siad. I have tested out a few here they are:

2. Yogen Fruz

You always see celebrities eating this stuff in mags, thinking how do they eat desserts and look like THAT. Created by two Canadian brothers in 1986, this frozen yogurt piece of heaven is so light and lovely.. You will never know you gave ice cream for lent!
"Yogen Früz provides delicious and nutritious frozen desserts, just what you need to live a healthy and active lifestyle."Yeah that may be true but we dont care because it tastes just as good as the real full fat thing. Yum Yum.

You can find few of the stands around, I located them in the Jervis Shopping center in Dublin.
Check them out on http://www.yogenfruz.com/home/

3. 'Crispy Bakery' Baked Goods

Amongst of my travels I had time to pop into a bakery for a coffee and a snack in Lithuania. This bakery in Vilnius is packed with baked goods, unfortunately I didn't have to to explore everything they had to offer. The staff was so pleasant and the interior design was hard not to find inviting and cosy!

I dont even want to know all the calories of the world that are in these goodies but soooo tasty... I got everything to go. Hands down one of the best lattes I have had in a while and these are the treats I got...

4. Fabulous Welshcakes

Welshcakes also known as bakestones. My friend brought some back from Wales to try them out, and they are so nice... Dusted with caster sugar they are like pancakes only in a biscuit/cake form. You can eat them hot or cold. I had mine with a lovely cup of green tea :)

Autumn Accessories and Jewellery

Shopping for accessories and jewellery is one of my favourite kind of shopping expierences! Today I went to River Island to check out their newer collection from the cheapy section..

These are my purchases. Once again the light isn't great but I have put together a set of my purchased from the site which are taken by a photographer and can be seen more clearly :)

1. Silver Tone Ear Cuff - 4 euro
Big trend setter this year, have come out of nowhere but seem to be the influence of Grunge and Rock Style. It was very popular back in 2000 so its no surprise they are making an appearance now that fashion seems to be coming around full circle. Great for people who dont have their ears pierced and look super cool when the hair is put up or have a side of your hair shaved of.

2. Multi Pack Ear Cuffs - 2 euro
This beauties are amazing. They aren't one of them irritating accessories, also look really cool without the pain of having the side of your ear pierced. One of the more exciting trends this year.

3. Gold Tone Cross Necklace - 4 euro
This necklace doesn't look as chunky in real life. Its actually very delicate and tiny looking. Perfect for layering jewellery.

4. Gold Tone Pear Multi Finger Ring - 8 euro
Love love love these multi finger rings! There is nothing uncomfortable about these rings and they look great. I believe we first saw them years ago on the Hills, when Lauren Conrad flaunted hers in season 1. Epic.

It's All About The Nails - Golden Rose

I have purchased new brand (well new to me) of nail varnishes by Golden Rose Cosmetics http://goldenroseuk.co.uk/ and were surprisingly AMAZING. Not only the price is amazing but the product itself. Hands down the most addictive purchase is Barry M when it comes to nail varnishes, around 4 euro a bottle and most of the time you end up purchasing three due to Boots 3 for 2 deals! Golden Rose Cosmetics are affordable and have great variety, the nail varnishes are around 5£.
I however found them on my Autumn travels in Lithuania when shopping in Drogas and one bottle cost me 1.50!! The check out lady though I was mad, being so excited about this product. These are my purchases, two different kind of finish matte and normal glossy varnish.

1. Golden Rose Matte - 07
2. Golden Rose Matte Velvet - 110
3. Golden Rose Matte - 10

The colors I picked are this seasons most wanted. I have never worn matte nail varnishes and it blew my mind how nice it looks when dry! The lighting in my room wasn't great but I have uploaded my favorite in better light.

My favorite shade is the 07, kind of burgundy color with a deep and dark finish. You will not believe how quickly it dries also, maybe its because they are matte.. or maybe its just because its a great find.

These are the glossy finish, like all standard varnishes. I picked a palette which goes together for mix and match kind of idea. I love putting two different colors together and even having every second nail a different color.

1. Golden Rose Care & Strong - 171
2. Golden Rose Care & Strong - 222
3. Golden Rose Care & Strong - 197

The great thing about this collection you dont need a million coats to have a nice finish. Regarding black nail polishes its hard to come across ones that dont need 3/4 coats before it looks completely black with a nice finish. With Care & Strong collection I found you need 2 coats max for a nice effect.

Where to find them:
I have been looking and hunting about for bargains and it seems your best bets are http://www.beautycosmos.com/0,224,golden-rose-matte-nail-lacquer.html for the matte finish polishes and http://www.ebay.ie/sch/i.html?_nkw=golden+nail+polish at a great price range starting with 3 euro.

October Wants ♥

Seen as it is the start of October I thought I would share some of the things I wish I could get my hands on ;)

Colour block Pointelle Sweater €23.75 Forever 21
I love knitwear and I haven't seen anything around like this. Definitely could be worn in any season.
Light brown studded heel court shoes €37 New Look
I only have one pair of nude shoes (shock!) so these would be a great purchase. The studs are all in this season and I just heart these.
Nars blush 'Orgasm' €30
I have heard so much about this brand of makeup and this product seems to be it's best seller. Not sure though if I would spend that just on a blusher. A girl can dream.
Dark green smart belted playsuit €50 River Island
This playsuit is so me, i love long sleeves. Would be great to wear with or without black tights.
Light brown stud suede tote €125 River Island
I'm not too sure if this is the correct price but yes it's crazy expensive but another purchase I'll be dreaming about. I love the colour and it would just go with everything.
Pale orange tiered collar dress €23.75 Forever 21
This dress is so cute, I'm looking for little dresses I can wear with tights and boots.

Here's to saving

Online Goodies - E.L.F and Sleek

I have become a little obsessed with trying to find cheaper brands online, and think between these two brands I have found some winners. ✔

The first brand is e.l.f. which is eyes lips and face, I found this website through a few beauty people I watched on youtube. This website is priced in pounds so you have to convert it over to your own currency to get the correct price. They are really cheap and that sometimes worries me because you suspect them to be kind of crap but I found these products amazing and this website is definitely worth the visit. Overall I think I spent £2.95 (€3.70) on shipping and it was delivered within 3 working days. Here is some of the goodies I purchased from this brand;

 e.l.f. angled eyeliner brush

 e.l.f. "all over face" brush

e.l.f. eyebrow treat and tame

e.l.f. angled eyeliner brush;
I have to admit but I still struggle with applying gel liner and am a liquid liner kinda gal. This brush is really good because it helps you to create a really thin line and then you can go over it again to make it as bold as you like. The only negative is that you have to dip it in the eyeliner gel a few times to re-apply and get more product. Priced at £3.75 (€4.70)

e.l.f. all over face brush;
This brush was smaller than I had imagined seeing in the picture, I just use it for applying powder, blush, bronzer. Priced at £1.50 (€1.90)

e.l.f. eyebrow treat and tame;
I have a love hate relationship with my eyebrows and really wanted something to keep them in place. I have quite dark eyebrows but bought the light version because I only wanted it to keep them tame not to add colour. Really love this and think it's a good thing to have if your eyebrows are like mine and don't stay in place, it also has a conditioner for the eyebrows but I don't use this much. Priced at £3.75 (€4.70)

e.l.f. eyelash curler;
Does exactly what it's meant to do, I've never had an eyelash curler before and bought this because of the price and I really like it. Priced at £1.50 (€1.90)

e.l.f. eyelid primer;
I am a worshiper of the Urban Decay Primer Potion (€20) but when two of mine ran out I just didn't bother buying another one. I then started noticing that I really did need one and I had watched this girl on youtube (stephbusta) who said it was amazing so I said I would try it. I have been using it for awhile now and it really really works and the best part is the price.  Priced at £1.50 (€1.90)

Sleek is another brand which I bought online, I bought these around December 2011. I can't remember how much the delivery was but I didn't think it was too expensive. Overall I think Sleek is a really affordable brand and definitely good quality.
Sleek iDivine 'Storm' Palette

two colours missing from swatch
Sleek Brow Kit

Sleek iDivine 'Storm' Palette
This eyeshadow palette was €10 and has a mix of light to dark colours. Personally I love the more neutral colours but they are definitely all gorgeous. It has 12 colours, 3 matte and 9 shimmer. The colours are swatched above from left to right;
  • light bronzey shimmer
  • light champagne shimmer
  • matte light brown (similar to Naked from the UD Naked Palette)
  • shimmery gold
  • light pink/purple shimmer
  • dark plum shimmer
  • dark brown shimmer
  • grey/blue shimmer
  • dark green shimmer
  • navy blue shimmer
  • matte dark brown
  • matte black
Sleek Brow Kit 'Medium'
This set was €10 also and really reminds me of the Benefit 'Brow Zings' which is €34. As I have already mentioned my eyebrows sometimes drive me crazy, they are dark yet they have to be filled in a little. I really like this kit, it has the gel, brown shadow to fill the brows in, a small flat brush, a small angled brush and a small tweezers. It also comes with a mirror in the kit but mine fell out. Overall I would say this is a really good product and €24 cheaper than Benefit, who wouldn't love that ;)

Wrap Me In A Jumper ☃

Brrrr... Has anybody felt the nippy coldness coming our way? I was standing outside waiting for a bus the other day and felt my nose go cold. Although there is still some crazy people out there wearing only a tiny t-shit I feel like I need to wrap myself in a big wooly jumper this upcoming winter.
I am loving big over sized jumpers, nice and snug.

I have chosen a few jumpers from this season that are snug and pretty at the same time... I matched them with a simple pair of jeans, to get the idea :)

1. Beige Star Print Jumper - River Island 42
The star prints on the jumper are very "POW".

2. Knitted Tweedy Lader Jumper - Topshop 50

3. Knitted Bush Mohair Jumper - Topshop 55
Topshop jumpers are pricey enough but they will most likely last you a few winters just choose the pattern wisely.

4. Leggings With False Pockets - Pull & Bear 17.99
They are like jeans without pockets, except the pockets dont bulge and the are not restraining as normal jeans. Thats winning right there! And did you manage to get a glimpse at the price? Ehh bargain.

5. Black Mixed Knit Jumper - River Island 45
The print id very 90s but we are so into that right now.

6. Sweater - H&M 39.95
This jumper is from the new Lana Del Rey Collection. (Check out the previous post about this collection http://everyprettydesire.blogspot.ie/2012/09/lana-del-rey-h-inspired-collection.html)

October Wish List

Its October already! Who would have thought... Here is my extended wish list for the month of October.

October Wish List 1

1. Black Boxy T-Shirt - River Island
Will probably go with everything in my wardrobe, classic item to own. Looks good with pretty much everything, there are two colours to choose from black and white so you cant go wrong. Around 20 euro.

2. Dame Embellished Slipper Shoes - Miss Selfridge
I am a big fan of pumps and this new trend of slipper shoes is right up my street! The jewels seem to be well fixed on the shoe but most likely will fall of after a lot of wears, still cant deny the beauty of the shoe :) Priced around 40 euro.

3. Purple Crown Stud Skull Earrings - River Island
The skull trend is coming back, I love these funky purple studs! Only 6 euro.

4. Moto Blue Soft Super Skinny Jeans - Topshop
You cant deny how nice these jeans feel on, just like the name describes them they are super soft! They have elastic in them so you can freely wear these bad boys to dinner and eat as much as you want knowing the button will still close. Priced at around 45 euro.

5. Abstract Floral Case - Forever 21
I have started adding phone cover cases to the outfits and why not (check out previous post about iPhone covers fashion http://everyprettydesire.blogspot.ie/2012/09/playing-iphone-dress-up.html)
I am into everything that this cover is about abstract good, floral good, only 7,90 gooooooooood.

6. Tall Structured Blazer - Topshop
I am a sucker for blazers, I definitely need to move somewhere where I could wear these all year round. The colour is gorgeous! Pricey though 80 beans.

7. Animal Print Gel Nail Art - Topshop
I hear these are the business, mad about the print! Would definitely spice up any outfit and aparently lasts 2-4 weeks (presumably varying on what your activities consist of, if your sitting around opening cans all day could only last you 2 days) Pricey 8 euro...

The second past of the wish list is way more funky... Here we go!

October Wish List 2

1. Fake Fur Jacket - H&M
I am obsessed with fake fur.. jackets, bags, you name it! This beige jacket is the bizz. Want want want. Enough said. Also this wont brake the bank with the price of 49.95.

2. Cashmere Scarf - H&M
This scarf is so pretty and the colour is so rich. I have never owned a cashmere scarf before but I hear it keeps people warm in the winter, this one however is PRICEY for H&M that is. 39.95, for a scarf...Hmm maybe I'll just wait for Santa.

3. Heart Earmuffs - Topshop
I will admit I have not owned a pear since 2009 but I am ready to cover my ears this winter and these lovely earmuffs will do the trick! 17 euro.

4. Premium Painted Leather Skirt - Topshop
Stop the lights. This is real leather and the print is wicked. (And I use that in an english slang kind of way) Topshop always manages to bring out these one of a kind pieces once in a while and this is definitely one of them. Very expensive but for those one of a kind pieces its an investment, right? Yeah I am trying to convince myself that also... 110 actual paper money!

5. Gold Tone Flying Pig - River Island
Yeah and pigs fly. Priced at 9 euro.

6. Green Studded Collar Shirt - River Island
These are everywhere... Urban Outfitters, Pennies, New Looks... I just loved the green colour!! You can never have too many shirts. 30 euro.
