Peplum
Since the early summer months Peplum has come into our fashion world and is still lingering, so I thought it was due to be mentioned.
Googling for a definition of Peplum aint easy apparently "Peplum originates in the Greek word for 'tunic'", this gives little or no inside on what it actually it. The simple-lest definition I could come up with is an over skirt attached to a jacket or a dress.
Why we love Peplum
Eh hellooooo, it hides away all our wobbly bits that the Briget Jones pants cant hide and make you look lovely and slim. However this can make you look like you have a big bottay be wary of that!
Skinny belts go hand in hand with the peplum dress of jacket! Define that waist and don't hide it! Match/compliment the belt to colour or pattern or go mad and take it out of context and go complete opposite..
The best place for Peplum I found is Miss Selfridge, I picked out a few cute pieces from their new collection!
1.Red Peplum Skirt - around 40 euro
Very cute and Christmasy, I think its sneaking up on us this year! Would go lovely with a white blouse or a black tight top, match it with some high peep toes and your ready to stand under the mistletoe.
2.Bottle Green Peplum Top - around 25 euro
With a sweetheart neck line, this is also very Christmasy colour! Dark green always looks classy and can be worn any time of year. Around town I have seen people wearing them with jeans as a casual everyday top, but you can also wear it out with some nice leggins.
3.Peplum Trim Biker Jacket - around 52 euro
Dark grey... Come on we can all admit grey goes with everything and this jacket will go nicey with tight jersey dresses or skinny jeans.. Yeah we LOVE.
4. Gold Lace Peplum Dress - around 55 euro
Peplum dresses are soooo flattering! Clearly thats another festive item on the list...

Cute T ❤
I ❤My T-Shirt.
From everyday casual wear to grunging up an outfit with a colourful T-shirt... At the end of the day its a must have and lets face it we all have!
This month I am all about the Ts, since I started back in college I find myself standing staring at my wardrobe for 10 minutes thinking of what to wear and how to wear it, and whats comfortable. So 2 weeks ago shopping in Liffey Valley I went on a mad T-Shirt hunt.
I love wearing H&Ms 4,95 cotton skirts, have them in every colour...They are so darn confortable and go with everything, so I managed to hunt down a few cheap t-shirts to go with them (as well as jeans and shorts, so versatile ;))
What I find when finding a lovely T-shirt is one, they are soooo expensive 25 euro or so for a t-shirt?!! Say what now! My advice is wait till sales! Only crazy or rich peeps by t-shirts worth 25 euro or more, all your paying for is the over priced print.. Looking at River Island and their cute Ts makes you drool and always end up flicking the tag over and walking away, but they always end up going on sales for less then half the price.. For example, this beut MTV print crop T-shirt with no sleeves! I own three of these in different colours (green, white and grey)
Super cute I know :)
I was such a sucker and bought it when it came out for 25 euro! Was I crazy or what.. Then January sales roll around (which are the day after Stephens day, 27th December and they were all reduced to 10-12 euro.. I stool in the shop and cried. So to avoid this feeling bargain hunt that shit!
On the same note.. River Island are still releasing these and so are other shops. I highly doubt that MTV will ever go out of fashion.
So back to the purchases, its rare to find a few good buys but I managed to come across some serious gems that day. I bought two Ts in H&M for 5 euro each, one was Beatles print and the other Rolling Stones. Then in Miss Selfridge I fished out a David Bowie t-shirt with no sleeves for 10 euro!
If that wasn't enough I also managed to rummage through Pennies sales rack (dont underestimate the sales rack, it looks like its full of crap but you never know) and I got Lady Gaga t-shirt for 5 euro. Winning.
On another note if your t-shirts are getting boring and you want to do a bit of DIY on them that makes them so much more cooler. Make something your own; wether its cutting it up or tie dying!
Heres a link to a really cool DIY video tutorial to spice of your boring Ts. Scull cut out at the back :)
Definetly check it out and give the DIY stuff a go.. I'll try and do a tutorial soon

Graduation Outfit
This year I am graduating from college... All I can think about are my outfits for the big day/evening ball! Here are my purchased outfits. Day time and night time ball.
Day Time
The hardest bit was finding something that would look nice and be not over too dressy but formal at the same time. Walking around shops and not knowing what you want is a drag. Today I got a dress on sale in Miss Selfridge, I must say the best 15 euro I have spent in a long time. Miss Selfridge, Liffey Valley Shopping Center in Dublin now stocks only sale items, the whole shop is buy one and get another free. The shop is packed full of dresses (a lot of maxis), skirts, t-shirts...etc.
This is a skirt/top dress, if someone doesn't really know what that consists of its basically a dress that looks like a two piece (skirt and a top) here it is:
My lighting isn't great, I think the collar is so pretty. With a bit of home styling it could look even better... I'm gonna eventually do a blog on DIY.
I will be wearing black tights as its freeeeezzzzzing! For a student its hard to be able to afford everything, this leads to compromising In my case I am referring to my shoe situation. I had to find shoes that would suit my day time outfit as well as the evening. A decision was made that I will not be wearing high heels this year, the full banter can only be achieved with flats.
Here are the shoes I got for both of the occasions:
These are from New Look, sparkly silver flats with jeweled bows. They will go nicely with the two dresses!
Night Time
The night time event of the graduation is the Grad Ball. Not many wear full length gowns to it but it seems more and more acceptable to wear maxi dresses on nights out.
I found a creamy/peachy maxi dress in Warehouse. Its Grecian style, with a see through long layer. I had my mind set on a full length dress because I wanted to wear flats and be comfortable.
I found it online on Asos and then went onto the actual warehouse.com to have a look at it, originally it was priced at 130 euro!! Which was madness, for a second I was prepared to pay that much. Madness. Then I thought I would go into the shop and try it on first before buying. Thank god I did as it was on sale. Reduced to 72 euro (with the 20% student discount went down to 6o something).
Although there was none my size I bought size 16 and got it altered to 12, it was only 20 euro extra and it was worth it I may add.
This is the dress on my hanger, doesn't look as good there so I added one from the site.
Sales
Always remember to check clothes for rips and tears. Sometimes sales items can be dirty with make up and stuff, dont hesitate to ask the sales assistant for money of the clothing item as the stain shouldn't be there even though its a sales item.
Dont forget to try items in different sizes, some shops stock odd sizes for different shapes. This also ties in with the altering, if the dress is cheap and worth tailoring get a bigger size! Its easier to trim around the dress and make it smaller then having to add material to a smaller size.
Also regarding stains dont buy items with oily stains they make not come out, that kind of stain usually looks like grease.
Never forget to check for student discounts!
Update
Just decided to add a picture of the dress at the Grad.. Not the best photo but you get the gist :)

October Wish List
Its October already! Who would have thought... Here is my extended wish list for the month of October.
1. Fake Fur Jacket - H&M
I am obsessed with fake fur.. jackets, bags, you name it! This beige jacket is the bizz. Want want want. Enough said. Also this wont brake the bank with the price of 49.95.
2. Cashmere Scarf - H&M
This scarf is so pretty and the colour is so rich. I have never owned a cashmere scarf before but I hear it keeps people warm in the winter, this one however is PRICEY for H&M that is. 39.95, for a scarf...Hmm maybe I'll just wait for Santa.
3. Heart Earmuffs - Topshop
I will admit I have not owned a pear since 2009 but I am ready to cover my ears this winter and these lovely earmuffs will do the trick! 17 euro.
4. Premium Painted Leather Skirt - Topshop
Stop the lights. This is real leather and the print is wicked. (And I use that in an english slang kind of way) Topshop always manages to bring out these one of a kind pieces once in a while and this is definitely one of them. Very expensive but for those one of a kind pieces its an investment, right? Yeah I am trying to convince myself that also... 110 actual paper money!
5. Gold Tone Flying Pig - River Island
Yeah and pigs fly. Priced at 9 euro.
6. Green Studded Collar Shirt - River Island
These are everywhere... Urban Outfitters, Pennies, New Looks... I just loved the green colour!! You can never have too many shirts. 30 euro.

1. Black Boxy T-Shirt - River Island
Will probably go with everything in my wardrobe, classic item to own. Looks good with pretty much everything, there are two colours to choose from black and white so you cant go wrong. Around 20 euro.
2. Dame Embellished Slipper Shoes - Miss Selfridge
I am a big fan of pumps and this new trend of slipper shoes is right up my street! The jewels seem to be well fixed on the shoe but most likely will fall of after a lot of wears, still cant deny the beauty of the shoe :) Priced around 40 euro.
3. Purple Crown Stud Skull Earrings - River Island
The skull trend is coming back, I love these funky purple studs! Only 6 euro.
4. Moto Blue Soft Super Skinny Jeans - Topshop
You cant deny how nice these jeans feel on, just like the name describes them they are super soft! They have elastic in them so you can freely wear these bad boys to dinner and eat as much as you want knowing the button will still close. Priced at around 45 euro.
5. Abstract Floral Case - Forever 21
I have started adding phone cover cases to the outfits and why not (check out previous post about iPhone covers fashion http://everyprettydesire.blogspot.ie/2012/09/playing-iphone-dress-up.html)
I am into everything that this cover is about abstract good, floral good, only 7,90 gooooooooood.
6. Tall Structured Blazer - Topshop
I am a sucker for blazers, I definitely need to move somewhere where I could wear these all year round. The colour is gorgeous! Pricey though 80 beans.
7. Animal Print Gel Nail Art - Topshop
I hear these are the business, mad about the print! Would definitely spice up any outfit and aparently lasts 2-4 weeks (presumably varying on what your activities consist of, if your sitting around opening cans all day could only last you 2 days) Pricey 8 euro...
The second past of the wish list is way more funky... Here we go!

Arthurs Day Special Part 2
This is an another option to Arthurs Days outfit, the night time option. For clubbing and other bigger night time venues.
6. Lips In Legend By Louise Gray (Bright Pink) - Topshop
E. ❤
1. Cream Boat Neck Blouse - Miss Selfridge
White blouses can be formal and casual. I love the boat neck, looks so good with the higher bow... Hair pulled back, up in a bun... You get the picture! Priced at 21 euros on sale..
2. Ultra Moisturizing Lip Paint (lp156) - Barry M
So glad that Barry M cough up with the trend and released darker shades! With moisturizing cocoa butter so it doesn't dry out your lips. They usually are around 5 euro, but sometimes Boots do 3 for 2 and thats a reason to get 3 different shades ;)
3. Lacquered Tribal Ring - Forever 21
The honest truth is that it will probably make your finger green after washing your hands a couple of times, or if you have very sweaty hands. Yeah but isn't it pretty.. Priced at 3,90.
4. Black Stud Cages Sandals - River Island
River can do no wrong regarding shoes. These shoes will probably last you more then one night out in the town.. They are gorgeous and look even better in real life. Pricey but gorgeous 110 euros.
5. Petites Black Skater Skirt - Miss Selfridge
This skater skirt is waist banded and with an elastic band, great material and could be changed from day to evening wear. You could wear it with pumps or high heels it would still look good. Priced at around 20 euro.
6. Lips In Legend By Louise Gray (Bright Pink) - Topshop
"Velvet finish lipstick to smooth moisturise and nourish lips.Velvet finish lipstick to smooth moisturise and nourish lips."
Yes, yes they would tell you that.. But the reason I chose another lipstick colour for the outfit was because it actually can accompany several colour palettes! Priced at around 12 euros, saying that its nearly as much as MAC lipsticks so yano...E. ❤
Arthurs Day Special
Arthurs Day refers to series of music events to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Arthur Guinness organized in 2009.
Guinness drinkers are expected to raise a glass of the black stuff in memory of Arthur Guinness at 17.59, this being a reference to 1759, the year Guinness was established.
This year Arthurs Day is going to be hopping on the 27th of September. The music line up looks UNREAL, spread across Ireland in 500 locations! So the only thought in my head this week is what to wear, different locations means different outfits. I put together a day time and night time option for this celebration. (Arthurs Day Special 1 & 2)

(Arthurs Day Special 1 & 2)
1. Studded Biker Jacket - Topshop
No one should be without a leather jacket, its so versatile and goes with everything! Topshop is pricey but sometimes its better to invest in a product with some quality, specially if you are going to wear it out as well as casual. Last year I purchased a fake leather jacket, which was gorgeous but when I wanted to wash it I realized I could wash it or dry clean it. Always check the label. Priced at 80 euro.
2. Crackling Topcoat In Black Dynamite - Topshop
Cant remember when this crackling nail varnish came into trend but I have loved it ever since! It makes your nails look that much more glam... This colour is amaze priced at around 7 euro.
3. Burnished Stud Waist Belt - Forever 21
Sometime high waisted shorts need a little something and a belt really dresses them up. Once again Forever 21 never fails for accessories and you can never have to many belts, only 4,90.
4. Rhinestone Cross Earrings - Forever 21
These cross earrings are very rock chick and perfect for this kind of event I might add! Studs tend to fall out of cheaper accessories so this needs to taken into consideration, but when they cost 3,90 its not that devastating when you need to throw them out.
5. Grey Star Studded Boots - River Island
Boots. Ah who doesn't love a nice pair of boots. Kesha is so right when she sings about Boots & Boys. Sometimes it seems like really important factors in life. Unlike boys these boots will probably never leave you or disappoint. Shorts, skirts, dresser or whatever they are the perfect match. Pricey but meh they are beautiful, priced at 95 euro.
6. Aztec Crossed Top - Topshop
Loving maroon shades right now! A semi cropped top, has a bohemian feel to it. Goes perfectly with the shorts I might add. Only 15 euros in Topshop... Just saying.
7. Mid Wash Embellished Shorts - Miss Selfridge
These high waisted shorts made pretty with the "mid wash" look and the copper studs.. Once again they could fall of and when buying definitely need to be looked at to see whether they are all there and how loose they are. Priced at around 50 euro, probably could find a cheaper pair and pimp them out yourself, but they are cheaper then Vintage Clothing.E. ❤
